On the heels of one of the longest pandemic lockdowns in the world, Budweiser wanted a 5-year platform that broke away from traditional masculinity and spoke to the deeper bonds formed when friends get together to watch the game.

We answered with, “That’s What Buds Do,” a campaign that spoke to all of the understated and quiet moments that forge friendships. We launched the platform with a :60s TV spot during the NHL’s and NFL’s opening night and followed it up with several :15s spots and several fit-for-format digital assets.

Budweiser’s infamous “Puppy  Love” spot remains one of the best performing Superbowl commercials of all time. To launch Budweiser Canada’s new creative platform, we brought the puppy and his famous buddy north of the border for the first time.
